Scarva were on their travels to Portadown BBOB on Saturday and another vibrant performance secured three rare away points.
The squad was down to the bare bones but the players deserve immense credit for having the character and determination to overcome the odds.
Once again Fulton was a central character for the village side, scoring both their goals.
Gary McCune supplied the pass for the first, enabling Fulton to fire his shot home from an acute angle.
Gareth Dillon had formed a formidable central defensive partnership with Rod Douglas during Tuesday night’s derby win over Gilford but due to the absence of Scarva’s regular goalkeepers he found himself between the posts on Saturday.
And he proved he is not just an outstanding defender, saving impressively when Rangers conceded a penalty before the half-time interval.
Fulton latched on to a through ball and coolly slotted home his second of the game to double the visitors’ lead.
It was to prove extremely important when Portadown BBOB won a second penalty and this time Dillon was unable to deny the hosts from the penalty spot.
Both sides had chances in the remaining minutes but Scarva held out to record their second win in a row.
The double success was overshadowed by the serious knee injury sustained by Stuart Adamson during Tuesday night’s home game. The midfielder’s performances have been magnificent since signing two seasons ago, his work-rate always matching his considerable talent, and the club wishes Stuart a speedy recovery.
